Launched as a swimwear producer in the ’40s, it wasn’t until 1958 that the first Sundek board shorts burst onto the West Coast surfing scene. The brand’s dedication to the sport, along with their innovative constructions and prints, increased demand and spread the brand to Hawaii and the East Coast. In 1972 Sundek introduced their rainbow shorts. The technical qualities and easy-to-recognize design made them an icon for surfers and beachgoers. Since then, Sundek has continued to grow but stays rooted in surfing and beach culture.
